Wait until treatment has ended to have a disability assessment; done too early, the grade will be rated too low

- Costs a little
- Takes some hours
- Some willpower
In plain words
How much compensation you get depends mainly on what grade you are rated, and the grade depends on how much impairment remains after treatment is finished. The standard says the assessment should be done after treatment has ended, or once the clinical result has stabilized. If you go for an assessment while the bone hasn't healed and the plate hasn't been removed, what gets rated is how things look at that moment, which is the same as pushing your own grade down. An ordinary fracture that has healed and does not affect function will not be rated.
Mentioned in
- If you suspect a fracture, stop moving that part, support it still, use a cold pack for no more than 20 minutes, and don't try to straighten it yourself
- If treatment leaves you with a real functional impairment, apply to the county-level Disabled Persons' Federation (残联) where your household is registered for a disability certificate
